Intense editing… Can’t even order my thoughts into coherent post…

I have one big plot hole to fix, then it’s pulling out character relationships and building on the laughably thin world.

Dining room table has expanded to Monster Table. Chapters printed out. Ideas sketched. Check for CP in-line comments. Then edit the text, type up, and amend character/world documents as I go (which are horribly sparse right now). I did not spend enough time building the background, and this is for a sci-fi series that spans the galaxy… HA! Good idea, luv.

Some Thoughts and Highlights

Spent two hours researching and drawing diagrams, all to fix one sentence in the text.

Used empty Pepsi Max cans to recreate the relationship between sun, planet and moon (WHY did I pick a moon as my setting?! Planet would have been so much bloody simpler…!)

…god, I miss the days of magical realism and writing about your home city…

NEVER DELETE ANYTHING! Because you never know when you’re going to drag an old scene out of retirement.

Listening to Dragon Age Inquisition by Trevor Morris on REPEAT to keep the juices flowing. Album is pure amaze.

Overall …

I’m learning lots of cool new stuff about my characters. All my thoughts are occupied with the book, and I’m loving it. But it’s damn hard work, and I really would like more time. I know it can be good, but it’s still so skeletal; so embryonic.
